I would like to welcome you all to this special event today, and to thank you for your friendship with Jordan
This exhibition should have been held last year, as the initiative was to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Jordan and China. However, the covid situation and the measures of lockdown enforced us to postpone it several times, until we managed to hold it today, this year that coincides with the 46th anniversary of our diplomatic relations.
I would like to thank the YINDI Group, and Yindi Art Museum for hosting this beautiful event, I would like to thank especially Mr. LYU Jianfu for his kind initiative and support to host this exhibition, I would like also to thank Ms LYU Chen , and Ms. GUO Lijun , for their creative efforts, their dedication, and their careful organization of this exhibition and of today’s event.
I would like here also to thank the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China for its continued support and for all its efforts to enhance cooperation between Jordan and China, in the area of culture and Tourism.
My thanks also to Jordan Tourism board, and their representative office in China for their great efforts to promote Jordan, and for their contribution to the organization of this event.
The anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations, is a very important occasion, and a renewed milestone in our long history of friendship and relations that started thousands of years ago.
We are proud that, it was more than two thousand years ago, when the Silk Road played an important role in connecting China with our part of the world, the Arabic Nabatean Kingdom of Petra in the south of Jordan, was at that time a dream destination for traders and travelers on the Silk Road, and an important station for Cultural and trade exchanges between our two civilizations.
And today, our relations continue to flourish, and our bonds of friendship continue to grow stronger, unveiling the great potential to increase our cooperation, and open more windows of opportunities in many different areas.
Thanks to the great vision and efforts of His majesty King Abdullah II, modern Jordan now is an oasis of stability in the heart of the Middle East, and a showcase of success in many different fields,
The strategic partnership agreement between Jordan and China that was signed by His majesty King Abdullah II and his Excellency President Xi Jinping in 2015 is a living manifestation of the strong relations between our two countries, and also of the promising future for our cooperation.
The works displayed in this beautiful exhibition, represent part of the modern and contemporary school of art in Jordan, joined together by a collection of photographic works of prominent photographers who tried to present Jordan from different angles through their professional lenses. And our beautiful Arabic calligraphy is also displayed to please your imagination.
In addition, I am so pleased that Jordan through the eyes of Chinese artists, is also displayed in a collection of beautiful paintings that I hope you all will enjoy.
Nothing bring friends closer than a heart to heart, and a soul to soul dialogue, and nothing better than art can do such a noble exchange.
I will leave you with these beautiful works, and their sincere messages of friendship, and I hope that you will enjoy this exhibition.
And I also hope that soon on your next vacation, you will be able to explore the mystique of Jordan, and that we will be able to welcome you there.
