My name is Jamila, and I'm from Uzbekistan. I'm just 11 years old this year. I absolutely love traveling! This time, we went to Wugang in Hunan Province, China. As soon as I arrived, I was amazed—the weather was so comfortable, making me feel completely relaxed.
Since we arrived in Wugang in the evening, the first thing we did after checking in was to have dinner. Wow, the braised dishes in Wugang were so delicious! I had never tasted such flavorful food before. Every bite was full of flavor.
The next day, we visited the ancient Wugang city. Walking along the old streets with wooden houses was so interesting, completely different from where we usually live. The pace there was slow, and as I looked at the old houses by the road, I thought how peaceful it would be to live here.
What made it most special was that we also went to Xuanfeng Tower in the ancient city! Standing on the tower, I loudly recited Wang Changling's ancient poem "送柴侍御" (Seeing off Chai Shiyu). Later, I even taught my travel companions Chinese during this trip, and everyone followed me in reciting the poem together: "青山一道同云雨，明月何曾是两乡" (Green mountains share the same clouds and rain, how could the bright moon ever be in different lands?). Our voices echoed through the tower—it felt so amazing, as if we had truly brought the beautiful imagery of the poem to life!
The most unforgettable experience for me was making tofu in Wugang! It was the first time I saw how tofu was made, from grinding the beans to the final shape. Every step seemed magical. And the tofu I made myself tasted extra delicious, soft and tender with every bite, filling me with a great sense of accomplishment.
We also went to Xiaonanshan Mountain. It was a bit cold that day, but we all sang and danced together, gathered around the fire, and it was so lively! I didn't feel cold at all; instead, I felt incredibly happy.
I really love Wugang, and I hope I can come back again next time. When I go home, I'll definitely share all these fun stories from Wugang with my friends!
